No report of Chinese nationals injured or killed in Colombia earthquake: FM_我的网站

A |     (ECNS) -- There has been no report of Chinese nationals injured or killed in Colombia earthquake, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.    Guo Jiakun made the remarks in response to questions on a magnitude 7.4 earthquake that hit Colombia on the night of August 10, Beijing time.        Guo said that the Chinese embassy in Colombia is doing all it can to verify the safety of Chinese nationals in the quake zone and will actively provide necessary assistance, and we advise Chinese nationals in Colombia to exercise caution against possible secondary quake hazards.    According to the spokesperson, China has expressed deep condolences over the lives lost and sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and the injured.    Guo said that "We believe that, led by the Colombian government under the leadership of President Abelardo de la Espriella, the Colombian people will pull together and recover and rebuild soon."    China stands ready to see what we can do to help in suitable ways in light of Colombia's need, Guo concluded.    (By Gong Weiwei)                    。    New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 90th Interpol General Assembly on Tuesday at around 1:45 PM in Pragati Maidan here.

The 90th General Assembly of Interpol will be held from 18th to 21st October.

The meeting will be attended by delegations from 195 Interpol member countries comprising of Ministers, Police Chiefs of countries, Heads of National Central Bureaus and Senior police officers, the PMO said.

The General Assembly is Interpol's supreme governing body and meets once a year to take key decisions related to its functioning.

The Interpol General Assembly meeting is taking place in India after a gap of about 25 years – it was last held in 1997.

India's proposal to host the Interpol General Assembly in 2022 at New Delhi coinciding with celebrations for 75th year of India’s independence was accepted by the General Assembly with overwhelming majority.

The event provides an opportunity to showcase best practices in India’s law and order system to the entire world, the PMO said.

Union Home Minister, Interpol President Ahmed Naser Al Raisi and Secretary General Jurgen Stock, CBI Director will also be present on the occasion.
